I'd say Magic.....because Magic is a 6'9 all around point guard who could play any position, won more champions(with final mvp awards), and arguably the best court general ever...

It would have to be Magic Johnson. Magic was a 6'7 guard, forward, and center. He brought the game athleticism, and just a lot of entertaintment. He averaged over a double-double per game by the end of the year, including the fact that he almost averaged a triple-double with rebounds. He won numerous MVP awards and led his team to win three championships. Magic Johnson, number 32, was and still is the best all-around basketball player in the NBA's history, and I think that he's the best PLAYER in NBA history.

Um.

you are comparing two players that play different positions.

Johnson is a better passer (he's a PG), kobe is a better scorer (he's a SG).

Johnson couldn't play defense to save his life, Kobe is one of the best defensive stoppers in the game (when he feels like it, 2005-2006 1st team all defense).

and for the person who said "kobe doesn't know the meaning of the word assist" you must not have been watching the lakers this year.

kobe shoots less shots than all the other "all stars" in the league cause he's passing the ball so well.

Magic Johnson is a legend. He's easily one of the top 5 best basketball players to ever play. Kobe Bryant, is not.

Magic Johnson is better than Kobe in everything else except maybe shooting if even that. He has better handles than Kobe, passing skills, post skills, rebounding, you name it.

It's not even close. Magic was a genius at his position and the commander of the floor at all times.

Kobe still has some growing up to do.

Have to agree. Magic could pass, score, play center, forward, anywhere. Kobe is excellent, but one-dimensional. He probably doesn't know the meaning of the word "assist".

No duh! Magic is way better then Kobe in every facet of basketball except for some of today's "important" tactics, like bad-mouthing, showing off, arguing for more money, and being a ball-hog... lol
