My son is 4 weeks old too and all he does is sleep and eat. He's awake for a couple hours a day total. He wakes up to eat every 3 hours or so. As long as your baby is waking up to eat 8-12 times a day and gaining weight well, he's fine. I agree with what others said, enjoy it while it lasts and be thankful you have such a content baby. My first daughter was so colicky, she cried for hours on end and it was really hard to get her to sleep.

This is totally normal from what I read in the books..... Take adva ntage of the time to yourself.. There are some of us that would die for some sleep.. My baby is 4 months old and hasn't slept since the day we brought her home... She only take 2- 20 minute naps a day and sleeps for maybe 9 hours at night, waking up every 2-3 hours.... Your baby will be active soon enough.... :-)

That's absolutely normal for a 4 week old. My baby is 11 weeks old and she's still only up for an hour at most at time before heading back down for a 2-3 hour nap (and she's up to 9 hours at night).

Your baby is perfectly normal and is doing exactly what his/her little body needs. They are growing at such an amazing rate, that this is what they do. Wait a few more weeks and you'll start seeing more more alert changes. Then one day you'll be thinking to yourself, "I wish he/she was sleeping again, so I could catch a nap." Enjoy the quiet time while you have it and get some rest yourself:)

This is complently normal for a baby of four weeks. They dont start being more alert or doing much of anything along those lines till about 4 mo or so.. Here is a great website I recommended. i use it for my kids..www.babycenter.com they will send you great weekly emails telling you what you can expect to see in your baby and changes. btw enjoy them while there newborns....That age is like a season it goes by way too fast! God Bless!:-)

Not every baby does...my first one did. She only woke up once a night to eat from the beginning...my second slept a lot as well...count yourself lucky!! As long as he is eating well and growing and looks good, I would not worry about a thing.

yes that sounds normal for his age,,,, is he alert when he does wake up? ands stays alert for a little while? if so , i wouldnt think there is any problem,,,, my daughter would stay up a half hour to an hour, then go back to sleep for a few, she then would sleep about 4 hours straight at night, but all babies are different, if you have concerns , its always good to discuss it with the babies doctor

As long as your son is eating, dirtying diapers and growing well he is fine take advantage of ur son sleeping now, may not be later.
