i have loved music all my llife and also been a christian all my life, my friends say i can't be a christian and like rap music, i don't find it offensive and i have never sworn in my life.can i be a christian and still like rap ???

I don't like Rap myself but I heard the same thing about liking Rock and Roll. Show me in the Bible where it says"Thou shalt not listen to Rap music" and then I'd say stop. Another alternative is to research the Christian music that available and find some good Rap music you might like. Christian music is not all "Praise the Lord" any more.
Google "Christian Rap" and get places to find it and about it. The best site I found quickly was at http://www.christianmusic.com/genres/raphiphop.htm there are many more and this might give you an idea what's out there.

I became a christian when I was 32-19 years ago.I grew up on the who Zeppelin Black Sabbath etc. I still love hard rock.
I really like some of the harder newer stuff too like audio slave and rage against the machine. At one stage I got rid of all my music to please 'christians'. I now regret it. I have been trying to get it all back.
In this life we as christians always come across stuff that is not of God if we can't filter it through our own brains then we are robots. When I listen to music which doesn't have a christ theme then I try to put myself in the place of the person who wrote it and understand them after all I was searching once too. If we can't relate to this world than we will never get to tell people about Jesus.
I am learning-be yourself-there will always be someone who will say this or that-I say if you judge then you are not a christian.

You can be whatever you want and like whatever you want.. Don't let other people tell you who to be. I don't like Rap, but as long as you don't live the life the songs portray, then have at it.

yess..God looks at in your heart..not the music u listen to..if your a christian..God knows!!..its just music..you dont have to listen to gospel to be one..rap is one of my favs and im a christian..and im not goin to hell..so..it ok..eminem rocks!
