Nancy of Sid and Nancy fame...Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols...err...coulda been the 80s. Was there a punk rock scene in the 70s?

punk rock wasnt' until the 80s, but as for female rock singers then Janice Joplin, Mama Cass & Michele Phillips (I believe that her name) of the Mamas and the papas. I cant' think of the names of others right now but they are on the tip of my tongue!!! I'll get back to you if I think of them,sorry
oh wait, i didn't see the drug overdose part!!
Michele philips is still alive and Mama cass choked to death on a ham sand. sorry

The only one I know is Nancy Spungen, who was killed by Sid Vicious, who later killed himself. See the Sid and Nancy Story.
