it seems like you cant watch any movie that has fantasy in it wthout it having the British accent the first time i saw it was with Mary Poppins, then Harry Potter then its everywhere it gets kinda annoying. thank god the Terabithia film is american, its not like i hate it cuz im not a racist its just its too much of it. And its not fair they dont do it with american accents in british films.

Well, would you watch a fantasy film that started "Y'all, once upon a time..."? An English accent sounds sophisticated to most Americans, and sophistication is something that's a 'fantasy' to many Americans.

Well with your two examples, considering both films are made in Britain and they are both from British novels by British authors set in Britiain with British characters its not exactly rocket science that they will have British accents is it? Come on think about it...any country that makes films is going to use actors of that nationality, American films usue American actors mostly, Indian films use indian actors so why can't British films use British actors. Do you not think there are enough films with American actors, are you trying to kill off the british film industry?

Apparently you haven't noticed but MOST big budget fantasy/sci-fi movies are now made in London in studios there because it's much cheaper than making the same movie in Hollywood. 'Star Wars' saga was mostly filmed there. If you've ever seen 'Superman 2' then I'm sure you noticed that in that American desert town everyone had English accents...lol! Because the extras used in these productions come from the locals.

There are more British actors/actresses whoa re willing to do the parts and it sells more tickets. Alot of people when thinking of Fantasy fiction think British/Irish/Scottish because of there longer history.

North American longer history would have to be native and as much as I would love to see a movie on native folklore in all honesty it doesn't sell tickets.
