I need to know a good product or a home remedy for dark circles under the eye. I recently noticed them since I started working graveyard shift. People keep saying it is from lack of sleep well I cant get good sleep because of my work hours and when I get off work I have to take care of my 9 month old and my 6yr old so it is extreemly hard to get sleep. does anyone have any suggestions? or product information that is promising.

I have an issue with dark circles and I have a day job. We all know the causes of dark circles--lack of sleep, stress, age, etc.

Short of surgery, I place a slice of cold potato followed by a luke warm tea bag (black tea) under my eyes. Sometimes I may follow up with a cold gell mask for the eyes.

I do this in the morning, time permiting and before going to bed. I leave each on for 5 - 10 minutes. I also get a better night sleep if I do it at night. It has a calming affect.

This seems to keep my dark circles in check.

I've tried every product, including Hylexin Eye Cream, which does not work for me.

Yes, sleep is the best choice, but there are other things you can do. Try a yellow-based concealer for the under eye. It will help to neutralize the blue tones. Avon has an eye serum and tons of eye creams that work nicely. The serum is kind of shimmery, so it reflects light and makes the dark areas less visible. I believe it is Anew Retroactive Eye Serum, something along those lines. It's not an immediate help, but once you can order it and get it, it's a great product.
Shop around at the drugstore or Wal-Mart if you get a chance, too. There are so many products now that can help.

my miracle remedies (that actually make a noticeable & intsant difference):

EB5 under eye gel (should be able to find at most drug stores, i buy it from Eckerd- comes in a little peach box) in the skin care aisle, it's like $18 for a small jar but it lasts a very long time so it's worth it you just apply a thin layer under your eyes before bed and when you get up, takes like 5 mins to dry and become invisible but it tightens and lightens very well

here's what it looks like:

Almay brand concealer (stick not liquid) is a magic wand! i have tried nearly every other brand and they're all pretty much worthless next to this stuff (i use the shade called "light/medium")
get it at any drug store for about $7

here's what it looks like: http://www.almay.com/Pg/Main/CatProdDet.aspx?catid=31&catnm=Face&subid=229&subnm=Concealer&prd=28581&osubnm=Concealer

get these products and you won't be dissapointed!!!

(for a home/slower remedy put cucumber slices over your eyes)

Try these:
Drink lots of water-Have at least eight cups a day.Satying hydrated boosts circulation, which heloos flush away excess fluid in skin-including undereyes.

Dad on visine-The same way it shrinks red veins in your eyes temporarily,it will shrink veins under them- tap a few drops on under eye skin.

Eat a high-fiber diet- Fiber helps absorb and carry away excess fluid during digestion.

Sleep on two pillows-Elevating your head overnight while you sleep helps drain excess fluid down and away from your face and your eyes.

Use a cold compress-Put it on in the morning to shrink your blood vessels and help reduce puffiness. Or press a frozen spoon against undereye skin for 15 minutes

Everyone else is right, sleep is the best remedy, but if you need a quick fix, try concealer or soothing eye gel. Mary Kay has the best soothing eye gel. I carry it with me all the time...my body has a really funny sleep pattern, and I'm noticing people always tell me I look tired. go to marykay.com/TDavis75721 to check it out if you want to.

Obviously sleep is the first answer, but another thing to help that is to eat lots of green vergitables, whatever vitamins are in green veggies helps with dark under eye circles!

Yellow-tinged concealer. Yellow is the opposite of your purple circles and will help a lot. I use covergirl.

No, you just need to get a decent nights sleep properly, get someone to look after your children and get a good sleep.
