I have the password and use it to log on to the computer but want to stop the computer from asking me for the password. It started doing this about 9 months after I bought the computer from Dell. It is a Inspiron 2200. I think my daughter may have put it on so I wouldn't look at her email. HELP! I have tried everything...

Do you mean:

"Remove the password log in screen on Windows Xp?"

This can only be done if you are the only user and administrator. If the pc has multiple users you will always have the log in screen present as you need to choice which user logs in.

If you are a single user then:

↓ Go to Control Panel
↓ Users
↓ Click your username to bring up the settings
↓ Click remove password
↓ Fulfil all the requirements to remove the password
↓ As a single user Windows will assume that there is no need for the log in screen and it will not be displayed in the future.

I hope this helps.

If you wish to remove all passwords from the system please email me as I do not wish to post the method to the public.
