Yes. There are a great many people in Mexico that, if they were to take the time, could trace their ancestry back to the Aztecs through one of their parents. There are also a few that can trace it through both. Some even made a conscious effort to maintain a bloodline undiluted by foriegn blood. There are also pockets where the practice of the religion is still carried on as best is possible with the secrecy that must be maintained.

The Aztec civilization, as we call them, were the founders of what today is Mexico City. After Hernan Cortes conquered them, as many as 10,000,000 are believed to have died due to European illnesses brought by the Spaniards to the new world, the remaining became the base of what is today the Mexican people. Most of them were enslaved for 3 centuries, and were freed in the early XIX century. Today, it is easy to observe a big difference in racial phenotypes in Mexico. The lower classes are consistent with their indigenous forefathers, as the middle and upper classes are mostly Caucasian.

Of course there are Aztec people they are just not called that anymore. They were very abused by Cortez.
