Yeah, Jamal seems to be a very popular name for African-American boys for example. I think some people like names that sound a bit exotic, or they don't want their kid to have a "slave" name. The reason blacks have Anglo (first and last) names is because of slavery, and it's sad to see that. When you're reminded of slavery every day because of your name, a name that you have to carry because that was the name of your ancestors' slave master.

Hmm..names like shaniqua and tyrone are usually associated with blacks. They are not arabic.
The Blacks people with Arabic names, most likely, are muslim or were raised muslim and havnt changed their names. Or they parents liked the muslim name. Chances are your just finding a lot of black muslims in your area

if a black family is muslim then they are likely to give the names from the holy quaran which is translated into arabic.
