Most sports do some kind of long term damage if you do them in excess. I think cycling can do damage to your balls, but it's something that affects mostly professional/competitive cyclists. If you just cycle an hour a day or so you should be fine.
PS. Recumbent bikes are more gentle on your balls and back than traditional ones, and they are faster!

No it doesn't. I wear padded shorts and use a gel seat on my bike. I can ride just about all day on it. My feet are nice and comfy too. I don't tighten the straps on the shoes to much.

Do you remember the old sturmey archer 3 geared bikes. They had gears in a the centre of the rear wheel hub. The gears used to slip....out of gear. I borrowed a mates once and as I was cycling madly round the block (we used to time how fast we could do it) the gears slipped......slow motion............my front foot went straight down to the floor.......my body fell as my foot slipped..........my groin made contact with the crossbar at high speed.........my nuts were squished on the crossbar.....................I felt PAIN......... I crashed......I lay on the road a squeaky voiced and defeated teenager.
