Elizabeth Kostova! She wrote the recent horror novel, The Historian, which explores the Dracula legond, or more specifically the real-life historical figure that inspired the original novel. Extremely well, written. Take the reader back and forth in time, written from the perspective of mutiple characters and takes the reader all over the world. I felt like I was watching a movie in my head the entire time, it was that vivid. It is now available in paperback. BTW, I am not a fan of Steven King either - good stories but not great writing.

I do, but don't read it alone.Anne Rice "vampire cronicals. The movie Interview with a Vampire really didn't do it justice. Her wording goes into the depth of the characters and theres 4 books after that. It kept me rivided.

Ted Dekker is a Christian Thriller writer and very good!!! I've read all his books but House is the best! Happy Reading!!

Try Edgar Allan Poe. His books, short stories and poems. Just don't get frightened.
