Yes, with some qualifiers:

1) Most anemones are difficult to keep - you need very strong lighting for most. If the anemone dies in your tank, you'd better get it out or have very good filtration.

2) an anemone will sting the mandarin if the fish touches it - if the fish is about 3", it should be able to pull free if the anemone is small and learn to avoid it in the future. If it's a large, carpet-type anemone, it will probably kill the fish.

3) You should have a large (40 gallon or more), well established tank with lots of live rock to maintain a mandarin. Despite the "eating frozen food" signs store like to put on these fish, they need live copepods to feed on. These come in live rock, but the tank should have been running for 6 months - 1 year to get an established population for the mandarin to eat. Don't buy the "Aquapods" bottled copepods - research has shown mandarins don't eat them!

4) If you notice the mandarin's health declining, get it out of the tank and by itself. Their skin produces a toxin when they die and it will wipe out everything in your tank. I had this happen one time - fortunately, it was only with one other fish.

to no longer be advise in my answer, yet you basically isn't waiting to possibly have any further fish on your tank. using reality, a 5 gallon is lots too small for any type of fish except for a betta! using reality, betta fish are very territorial and often kills what they are easily no longer getting alongside with. it is why they are suggested as Siamese scuffling with fish (betta) and the only you've sounds ideal for that length tank. in case you go with, you are able to upload a snail on your tank, yet i'm afraid it is it. you basically isn't waiting to have an area tank + a betta fish.... so, ethier get a snail on your betta. Or get yet another tank (seperate) and fill that one. besides the undeniable fact that it would precise be a minimum of a 10 gallon in case you opt for to inventory it as an area tank. solid fulfillment!
