I'd guess B-chinese, however I know it was used by Arabian peoples in mediaeval times, probably traded or knowledged passed from the chinese via Sea trade or the Silk Road. I believe the earliest recorded use by the English was at the Battle of Agincourt..(one cannon was used there)
