If you haven't already, try your local parts stores as well as the dealer. Ask them if they can give you a discount, some will, some won't and the worst they will say is no. Advance now can get some used parts, might try that. Many dealers will discount a high priced part to get the sale rather than send you on your way.

i own a repair shop, and i have ran across the same problem your having now, they wont take one off a good running engine, you,ll have to do like i do,by a new one,and i know there expensive, but that was a weak spot on those cars ,and a used one may not last no longer than a month, this happened to me once,so from now on i buy new ones,if you want the car to last, this is the best thing to do,good luck, i hope this help,s.

your best off to go to your local dealer and buy one from them. they are expensive but it will save you trouble by trying to get used or rebuilt we had one in our shop that the cust did not want to buy ours(mopar) so we got them an aftermarket one to make a long story short we ended up putting 3 aftermarket distributors in this car and it came back everytime with the same problem the customer finally bought our dist and has been running fine since then
