I've always found the job centre really good - very under-rated. It's used more by small businesses who can't afford the expense of advertising in papers. I always think it's nicer working for a smaller company because there is more involvement in the business and more opportunities than with a large company.

First off, what kind of job do you want to do? From personal experience, some of the best ways to find jobs are:

1) Network with other contacts (former business partners, former supervisors, former employees, etc.)

2) Have skills that are in demand; submit resume via monster.com or careerbuilder.com. If you have relevant skills in a particular field and purchase the 'upgrade' option for monster/career builder, you will get a plethora of phone calls.

3) If you're just looking for a minmum, hourly wage position, create a paper resume, visit 25 businesses in your area a day, fill out the applications, then follow-up after a week with a phone call or onsite visit asking about the status of the application.

4) Take advantage of an employment center within your area; generally operated by your state, city, or county.

Hope this helps.

you can look in the newspaper, or go to the places where you want to work and fill out applications. you can go on line. and try to find a job. good luck. and a tip if you really want one job that you applied for go there every week and keep applying, hopefully they will get tired of you and give you a chance, I did that and I got it, Im doing it again. but I'm determined to get it. and I am not going to stop until I do. just don't give up hope. go for what you want. good luck.

Find Your state, employment website, and start searching on there if you want. Read the Classifieds for "Help Wanted" or keep your eye open for Now Hiring or just go to as many places as you want dropping in applications, 5+ a day for better esults, best of luck to you!

1. jobcentre
2. adverts in paper
3. recruitment agencies
4. online - type job search and the name of your town in Google, then register and add your CV on the appropriate Web site
5. networking - ask all the people that you know if they know about any vacancies
6. go and ask at hotels, hospitals, warehouses etc if they need any staff
