I really liked his song about peace and stuff, but grew tired of his hippie b.s. and I never liked the Beatles very much.
But there are some songs he has done , which are just truley classic . What is the song, "Woman" I beleive. I am not gay, but whoever came up with the melody of that song is a genius!

I think he was a complex man. Maybe the anger he recognised within himself made him aware that people with great power had to excercise great self control. He learned a lot of the peace and love stuff from the Maharishi, a Guru the Beatles all studied under. His relationship with Yoko Ono baffled and annoyed people as much as his pacifism. Much of his later music, including 'Woman' was inspired by and made for Yoko. He is the genius who came up with the melody.

Considering the more selfish and self indulgent things he could afford to do with his time I respect the fact that he devoted much of it to trying to make the world a safer place.

PS After his English lesson on past and present tense it is a pity for Everett to misrepresent what Lennon said. He actually offered an opinion that it was sad that church attendance was slipping but the Beatles concerts were sold out, meaning that people were getting there priorities wrong. Always willing to stir up controvercy in order to sell newspapers the American press quoted a few words out of context making it appear that Lennon was boasting that the Beatles were more popular than God (wrong tense Everette), he didn't say 'would be' (future) he said are (present) and when he got off the plane in England he was interviewed for British TV at the airport and was asked if he was sorry. Rather than being too big to apologise as many rich, famous young men would be, he immediately said that he was sorry for what he had said and he went on to explain that it had never been meant in the way that was reported.

He was, indeed, a very talented songwriter
However I think if he was around today he would be subject to a great deal of the rubbish that is written about Paul I.E. too old, lost the plot etc. I feel that in the present day if you are over 25 you are considered old. And I truly believe he would have been labelled a"boring old hippie" by the youth of today.
Maybe because he died, people have built up his image and created an icon that very few of them would remember if he was still alive !!!!

Ah, don't you mean what "did" you think of John Lennon. Unless I'm mistaken he died many years ago. The "do" implies present tense. The "did" implies past tense.
Hey, I'm just rattling your cage, I really liked alot of his music, even if I didn't care about his comment that the Beatles would be bigger that God. I wonder how he explained that one to the Creator when he arrived at the gates of heaven???.

Vastly overrated.

I think he treated his son Julian really badly. It's no use blaming Yoko - it was his son and his responsiblity.

Much prefer George - both musically and as a good man.
