I would just put it in the washer on small load, cold water with a packet of Rit Dye. I tried using fabric paint once to cover some spots and it kind of raises up and looks puffy. If you use the Rit is just blends right in.

Our Wal-Mart crries fabric paint (and it is a small one). Also, they have a solution that can be mixed with other craft paints so that thy can be used on fabrics. This works well if you have other paints on hand for craft projects and would rather not by all the colors of craft paint.

at a fabric or craft store. that is a good idea, but it hardens like paint. i have had to repairs of that nature in the past. a black permanent sharpie works best. after a time you will need to do touch ups. good luck.

Walmarts but why don`t you just buy a bottle of their craft paint in black. That will work and it won`t wash out neither.
