Don't show anything or you will kill your party! You want your guests attention to be on the music and the other guest! If there's a tv turned on (weither it's up or muted) then MOST of the guests will just sit or stand and stare at it and they won't look anywhere else OR get into the music. I've dj's more than a thousand 'house parties' and this is a fact! Leave the tv off! And then you can have a history-making party! :-)
