I think it's Malone....Malone's the best power forward to play the game.......and the only reason why he didn't get a championship is because he was competing against The Greatest Of All Time Michael Jordan... The MJ era stopped alot of GREATS from getting a ring..If MJ didn't exist alot of them players would have got a ring.

They both have very similar career stats with the Mailman putting in more points per game (25 v 21.9) and Duncan making more blocks per game (2.4 v 0.7). That is a reflection of the Spurs being more defensive oriented so their games had lower scores.

If you swapped them around you would probably find Duncan scoring as much as the Mailman but the Mailman would not make the same amount of blocks as Duncan.

MJ is not a good excuse for the Mailman lacking a ring because he had a 19 year career and MJ only won 6 rings in that time. Clearly there were lots of other players stopping him from winning.

The Mailman did not noticeably lift his game during the playoffs and missed a crucial free throw in the 1997 finals after Scottie Pippen told him that the Mailman doesn't deliver on Sundays.

Duncan has clearly lifted his game in the play-offs, including his free throw percentage. In the decisive game of of the 2003 finals (Game 6 v New Jersey) he nearly had a quadruple double (21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, 8 blocks).

The Mailman was league MVP in the 1998/9 season when MJ retired the second time. Guess who stopped him from winning a ring that year?

Tim Duncan.

This is a very debatable question. Karl Malone is the NBA's second leading scorer every, but retired without a ring - thanks to Jordan. Tim Duncan has never been at the top of the scoring list, well not within top 3 at least, but if we were retire today, he would go down with 3 rings. I would have to say that Karl Malone was more valuable to his team, thus making him a better power forward, maybe the best in the game.

Tim Duncan. Malone replace right into a confusing worker who overachieved and barely ignored a sport, yet Duncan replace into the greater experienced participant. Their helping casts around them have been equivalent (Malone would fairly have the income), yet Duncan has 4 rings to Malone's 0. Malone could no longer get previous Jordan, yet Duncan controlled to get previous Kobe/Shaq assorted situations.

Malone was the best power forward that I've ever seen play. He was a scorer and rebounder / intimidator.

Duncan has the rings..but he had better teammates and never faced the Bulls. The best team he faced was a Laker team that had divisions within it...between Kobe and Shaq. (As a Laker fan, I'd take the 80's Lakers over anyone...but the Kobe /Shaq team was inferior to the Bulls by a wide margin).
