i seem to have had that problem for most of my life too. people who call themselves your friends, but who only seem to be around when they need u, or want something - if u have a problem, u don't see them for dust. i had a nervous breakdown, and out of all of the 'friends' that i had, only one or two stuck by me through it all. i've come to the conclusion that i'd rather only have a couple of true friends, than a whole load of people who just basically use me for what they can get. the only downside to all of this now is that i'm very wary about making new friends, for fear of being used, so i sometimes wonder if i've missed out on making genuine friends because i've not trusted those people enough to allow them into my life properly.

Everyone uses everyone for something or other, not in a horrible way, but if you wanted to see a film and say that your boyfriend/girlfriend didn't, you'd ask your mate! Would you still ask that mate along if your b/f/g/f wanted to see it? We have different friends for different reasons, and your friends only like certain bits about you.

Some people are like that; the fairweather friends. A ture friend will be concerned about how you are. I think friendships evolve over years; friends are like couples - they get used to each ohter's ways

You've made the wrong friends, I'm afraid. They are the kind of people you should keep at a distance.

I wonder why you feel that way. Are you supporting other people to much? And so they see you as a crutch. Perhaps you need to let people do stuff for you as well, OR EVEN ASK THEM LOL

Thats true of most people - you're only of value to them when there's something they want or need from you.
