Hello my son is 13 and plays in senior league and possibly his school team. Is it a good idea to use a -3 bat in senior league and is it allowed. thank you

Yes he can. I would reccomend a -5 bat though. A few baseball company's have started to make them and it helps kids make a transition from lower leagues into high school and college. A typical senior league bat is -8 and a high school/college bat is -3. Using a -5 will allow your son to make the transition to a -3 bat easier than using a -8. The only problem with using a -3 bat in senior league is that kids are often not strong enough to swing it. So they use a -8. But as they get into high school they have trouble swinging a -3. So I would reccomend a -5.

It is allowed and I would definently use it because that is the only type of bat they will allow him to use once he gets to high school.

Of course and he should get used to it soon as he will need one in high school.

Even if it is not allowed (I highly doubt it) no one will stop you.
