The TRUTH is, whether you choose to believe it or not is, that the Earth routinely goes through periods of warming and cooling. and there is absolutely NOTHING mankind can do to alter that fact. That's just the way it is.

Let's answer the last part of the question first ...
I'd bet that short of our Creator's personal intervention, future generations will suffer thru the same sort of earth climate changes that have existed since long before mankind ever set foot on the planet. Just try to imagine the amount of greenhouse gases all the volcanic activity produced long before we were a part of this eco system.
I'm not ignoring the evidence; I just have yet to SEE any that points to the "certainty" that humans can indeed influence global weather patterns as some seem to believe. And yes, I understand that scientists are making these claims. But I also see that scientists (and others) are reaping financial rewards for making these claims.
But if you still have a true concern, maybe some northeasterners can share their experiences with all that globally-warmed snow that's still accumulating atop their rooftops, streets, and walkways right now.
And if you're as old as me, you might remember that just a mere 28 years ago, leading media reports were warning us of a "Global COOLING".
Hang in there...Be "cool"... It's gonna be all right.

this question is information of an exceedingly limited historic attitude, and clearly a central authority education(examine public) besides. An purpose assessment of contemporary historic previous will tutor that the 1930's have been warmer than the 1990's. As yet another answer reported, there is plenty archaeological historic previous that shows that we are actual residing in a truly elementary climate, while in comparison with centuries previous. the guy-made worldwide warming proponents count those interior the inhabitants that tend to be lead via their heartstrings, as adversarial to utilising reason, and oh yeah actual analyzing historic previous(previous the dribble this is taught in government colleges at present). there's a reason that the "climate exchange specialists"(sic) will in basic terms are awaiting disaster 50 or years out. simply by fact via then, no one will remember the ludicrous predictions that have been made in 2008. yet via then, A.G.W. proponents would have falsely led us down a direction which would be complicated to recover from. in the event that they have their way, populations would be controlled, productiveness would have ceased, and we are able to all be residing in planned communities the place all would be truly controlled. There would desire to be no freedom, lest somebody emit one ounce extra Co2 than the powers that be be certain to be suitable. And that my pal is the purpose of the guy-made worldwide warming proponents.......save the inhabitants in a relentless state of worry.....and save that leash tight

Your question already contains an opinion: that some are ignoring the evidence that this cycle is occurring. Some of the answers offered here also contain heavy biases against big companies and politicians. The current debate however is not whether the earth's temperature is rising; it almost certainly is. The debatable issue is whether it is result of man-made actions. This is a subject matter that few actually know about but all of us feel entitled to give opinions about. In truth, even scientists are split about this question. If you read the news, one day some thousands of scientists will back up one theory; the next day, some thousands will back up the opposite theory.
In 1997, in Kyoto, delegates of 189 countries met to discuss global climate change and they could hardly vote to do nothing. So they decided to order a reduction man-made greenhouse gases. At the top of the man-made greenhouse gases is CO2.
The atmosphere is primarily composed of nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21 %) and CO2 (0.04%). Many other gases are present in trace amounts. The lower atmosphere also contains varying amounts of water vapor, up to 4% by volume. Nitrogen and oxygen are not greenhouse gases and have no warming influence (you see, the greenhouse gases included in the Kyoto Protocol are each rated for warming potency). CO2, the warming gas about which many are worried, has low warming potency, but its relatively high concentration makes it responsible for 72 % of Kyoto warming. Methane gas (CH2 or "natural gas") is 21 times more potent than CO2, but because of its low concentration, it contributes only 7% of that warming. Nitrous oxide (N2O), most of which is not man made, is 310 times more potent than CO2, but its low concentration keeps its warming effect down to 19 %.
HOWEVER, nature itself generates about 30 times as much CO2 as does man. Enviromentalists will usually ignore the fact that only 3.2% of the total CO2 is man-made ("anthropogenic CO2"). They will only point out that the US generated about 23% of the world's anthropogenic CO2 in 2003, which sounds pretty scary.
But there's more: CO2's contribution to the greenhouse effect is even smaller when you take into consideration water vapor. If you do, all the greenhouse gases together, including CO2 and methane, produce less than 2% of the total greenhouse effect. With water vapor factored in, then anthropogenic CO2 produces less than 0.1 of 1% of the greenhouse effect. Everyone knows that water vapor - which is almost entirely natural - is the dominant greenhouse gas, yet many environmentalists will ignore this fact.
In conclusion, there is not much that can be made to revert global warming, as it is mostly a natural phenomenon, and man-made contribution is neglectible. Eliminate entirely man-made greenhouse gases, and you still have an enourmous amount of naturally made greenhouse gases.

I've said it many times and will say it again, we in the West can completely cut our emissions and within a short time India and China will catch up and negate our efforts. Without Asia signing on to the protocols going around we are wasting our time and money. You don't have to believe what I say, but in 2006 a toxic cloud of emissions crossed the Pacific and we in Canada and the US got treated to some good old fashioned pollution. Just as Europe gets ours, Asia gets Europe's: see what I mean? We ALL have to do it, or Nature will do it for us.

We should stop letting huge corporations get away with paying fines when they break environmental laws. I don't believe its all the cars that are causing global warming, its large corporations. Continue to come up with alternative fuels, and high speed trains, Solar energy, and magnetic rail Trains like in Japan. More effective public transportation, revitalize urban areas so people can choose to live in a safe area, free from crime. Plant more trees.

Some continue to ignore because they don't believe its happening. Politicians ignore the problems, they care only about themselves and there money to care about the world problems, otherwise they'd have to spend millions on the global issue. the world will continue to get worse in the future, and more people will die.

Well since I will not be here. I'm not worrying about. I still think it's a ploy by the government to raise taxes and place more controls on us. Do you think South America, Mexico,China and Africa are going to worry about it. If there really is such a thing.

Do you want another ice age? The Earth goes through cycles. It's just part of life on this planet. Most of the o-zone damage comes from volcanoes. How do we stop that? It sucks,I know....
