Im a fashion designer, so tell me, should I find that offensive? And people wear whats in because its fashion. It looks good, and its 'in'. Period.

I understand what you're saying. Many people follow fashion and other trends because they either genuinely like them, or because they want to be seen as "cool" and deep-down they're insecure. It can get ridiculous though. Some people choose to wear certain clothing, get a certain haircolor, or hairstyle, etc. just because it's "in" even when it doesn't look good on them. An example: skinny jeans. Despite the fact that they're in, I would never wear them. My thighs and booty are my biggest part, and all skinny jeans do is make them look bigger. That doesn't stop many other women though. I get the whole "wear what you want and don't care what anyone thinks" and "it's in and I should wear it" things, but you also want to wear something that's flattering on you. Just because it's trendy doesn't mean it's going to look good on everyone. I'm done ranting now. lol

I don't know why someone would wear whats "in" it all has to do with "being cool" i mean i go to goodwill, or the arc for my pants that have the exact same texture and the same articles used to make them as those of abercrombie or like American eagle, really the only thing different is they have a moose on theirs or whatever meaning they can raise it 50 bucks because people want to be cool. I would love if everyone was different, but not everyone is a leader, and not everyone can think for themselves, so they look to the pop-culture for advise.

It's not just one designer that picks the trends, its a whole bunch of designers who get the trends for a trend book. And you don't have to wear whatever is "in", some people just do because they like it. Some people wear it because that's what there favorite designer is currently wearing. And some people just wear what's in because they don't know what else to wear. Trust me. I know all this because I study fashion and I'm in the industry. You don't have to wear whats "in", it's your choice. I just wear what's "in" because I like to change styles and experiment with different trends. But there's a lot of times where I'll wear something that's not "in" or something that was from last season.

It has been like that since the beginning of time. You should wear clothes that you like and feel comfortable in not what everyone else is wearing

I agree with the fashion designer. It looks nice and cute and people should be able to where what they want to even if it's "in" or not. I wear shoes that are in like DVS,DC,ADIO. Because them shoes are cute and comfy!

it's because there's usually a large group of people who just happen to like the same thing and they start to only accept people who follow that trend, and pretty soon girlls start to only be attracted to guys who follow that trend, because they notice a trend that guys who don't follow the trend tend to be losers(meaning socially unsuccessful) and girls are wired to be attracted to social success, because it implies protection, so all guys try to follow the trend.

so they can act cool and they think that "Whats In" is in and that people who dress differently have no style.

Insecurity is the reason... they're not comfortable enough to be themselves, that's all.
