Pampers all the way. The absorb better, smell better, and in my opinion are just better...they are also softer. You can also sign up at pampers.com to utilize their rewards system. You find codes on the bigger bundles of diapers and enter them into the system and earn points that can be used to get free stuff. I will never use another brand of diaper!

Pampers swaddlers are absolutely wonderful for newborns. There is a yellow strip on the bottom of the diaper that turns blue when it's wet, so you won't have to constantly hassle your baby by opening it up and checking. Because the swaddlers were so great and absorbent, I've continued to sometimes use Pampers. We use Pampers Baby Dry. One drawback is that they do tend to feel very damp on the outside whenever she is the least bit wet. I do not like Huggies - the straps weren't sticky enough and kept coming undone, and they smelled musty when wet. They also fit awkwardly around my baby's thighs. White Cloud diapers are HORRIBLE, the straps suck. Never tried Fisher Price. The only other brand besides Pampers I use are Luvs, which are very absorbent, fit very well, and are usually cheaper than Huggies and Pampers, just depending on which ones I have coupons for. A friend of mine uses Luvs for her little boy too. Altogether I think I like Luvs best, but Pampers is also good. I recommend getting Pampers swaddlers for newborn and then when your baby reaches size 1, get a few different brands to try out and see what works best. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy! Also, wipes are all the same. It's stupid to get brand name wipes which are ten times more expensive than generic. I always get bulk of the store-brand wipes and they work every bit as well as the brand name wipes I've tried.

I like Pampers. You can get $25 off of $99 worth at Amazon.com right now with the code "Pampers2". (Valid through the end of February, 2007). I normally buy mine at Sam's, so they're not as expensive. I like the Cruisers, in the purple box. I find that the Baby Dry ones give my daughter red marks where they rub. I've read that other parents have the same problem.

I used the Swaddlers, too, when she was a newborn. Occasionally I've used cheaper diapers (my mom got some that were "half the price!" Oh Boy!) and they blew out twice. I'd rather spend more on diapers than wash all that poopy laundry, personally!

PAMPERS....my son leaked outta everything else and I found they didn't fit right Huggies expecially he peed out the side ( my aunt had the same experience)....some no name brand gave him a rash...but i'm faithful to pampers their awesome. I tried 5 or 6 other brands though but from experience Pampers are worth the buy. Now it also depends on if you have a boy or girl, my aunt and other people I know found that the boy peed out through the side of Huggies, and Pampers were no good for girls, so I guess you'll have to try yourself. But Good Luck

My son peed out of his Huggies diapers almost every single time. His diaper would not even be wet, but his outfit would be soaked. I have tried every kind cause I got a lot of different brands as gifts. I prefer Pamper, they are stretchy and fit better, and we have had no leaks with them. I also got a box of Parent's Choice (Wal Mart) as a gift, and we used them only during the day in case they leaked, but they didn't so I might buy those again. But whatever you use, go to the companies website, you can get coupons for everything.

Huggies, definitely. Pampers and Luvs have fragrance added to them. I don't like to put anything on that area of a newborn that doesn't need to be there. My kids have very fair skin and I'm afraid of a reaction.

Btw, Huggies have actually worked the best for us as far as stopping leaks. I think it really depends on how your child is built.

Funny I was just talking to a friend today about this same issue! I'm pregnant and was asking her about diapers. She's a mom of one and one on the way & she said that Luvs are just as good as Pampers and cost less. She bought Pampers religiously and then discovered that Luvs were just as good and that's what she's buying for the one on the way...

I usually get what I can afford. Luvs doesn't have stretchy tabs and that wasn't helpful, but they were ok. Pampers has a good smell to them but I don't always get them. I usually get Huggies but if I need more diapers for the same price as huggies I go to sams club and get the generic brand.

I prefer Pampers Swaddlers and since they only go up to size 2 Once my boys got into size 3 I started buying Pampers Cruisers but Luvs arent bad and if your really tight on cash I get WhiteCloud once in a while.

Pampers Cruisers!

The reason....
The elastic band around the legs is an inch on pampers Vs. Huggies is a 1/2 inch.
Pampers stay closed...huggies don't always.
More BLOW-OUTS (leakage) with huggies.

Pampers are more expensive, but worth not having to disinfect your carseat once a week because of frequent 'blow-outs".
