My active favorite player is Wang Chien-Ming, because I am Taiwanese-American. My all-time favorite player is Eric Davis. That was the time I was in grade school and playing little league, and he was hitting 37 homeruns and stealing 50 bases a year. Also, in 1986 he hit 27 homeruns with 80 SBs. This has to be taken into account that he never had more than 474 at-bats, and never played in more than 135 games. One of the most amazing talents ever, if not for the injuries, he would have probably 400 homeruns and 400 stolen bases. Plus, he was so skinny but yet so strong, and had a unique stance. With that build, you know he didn't use steroids to hit those homeruns. Won the World Series with the Reds in 1990. Battled back from cancer to hit .328 with 28 HRs and 89 RBIs with the Orioles. Who could ask for a better favorite player?

I would have to say Barry Bonds. Off the field, I had the opportunity to see and talk to him once a week at my old employer (videogame company) because I worked with one of his relatives, and before he moved from No. California to Beverly Hills. He is genuine and not a jerk like everyone says he is. I think it's just because people were too pushy and forced him to sign autographs that turned him off to some fans. When that happens, people say that he's a jerk and word just spreads like wildfire even though they do not know him personally.

On the field, his skills may have deteriorated somewhat, but by following his career from San Mateo, CA, Hawaii and the Pirates/Giants, it must be impressive having so many home runs, hits, stolen bases and walks throughout. Just the mention of his name should bring thoughts of achievement and not drug use because if he did, he's not the only one to do so. Blame everyone else and not just him.

If his career ends soon by injury or retirement, he left a legacy on and off the field by being his own person and not bowing down to anyone. If he challenged people that accused him of drug use, there are no known tests administered by MLB or independent medical sources that show a positive result.

Don Mattingly because he is a good person and always plays hard whether he is hurt or not. Don Mattingly is one of the most liked players ever. He never cheated or insulted anyone. And, no one ever had a bad thing to say about him. It was said that Mattingly was one of the few players never to be booed at Yankee Stadium. In the plane trip back to New York after the 1995 A.L.D.S. when Mattingly announced his retirement, there were people who were crying when they found out. Donnie Baseball will always be my favorite player.

Brandon Phillips of the Cincinnati Reds. He is a slick fielding 2nd baseman that is quick on the bases and also has some home run power. You can tell he gives 100% all of the time. Was totally underrated last year.

Mariano Rivera. He's the best closer of all-time, but still doesn't take himself too seriously. It was great to see him just laugh-off that mock cheer at fenway in 2005.
