Hello I am in High School and I am really really annnoyed at all the Holocaust stuff we are forced to learn.
and I really think Germany needs to stop with the guilt trip to the german children. Its not heatlhy phychologically to focus on these kinds of things.

In the end, the Holocaust was nothing. Stalin wiped out 30 million people, starved most of them. Then he tried ethnically cleansing the Ukrainians. Right now in Africa, Suda there is an ethnic war going on. And theres tons of other examples across the globe (Chinese government still persecutes tibetans for no reason).

I love jews and support the state of Israel but this Holocaust stuff needs to really end. I love how the ameriacn teachers try to make us feel guilty too, "the USA knew about this and we did nothing to stop it for years!". ROFL, what a lie. People still aren't sure if it happened today, yet somehow americans knew about it when it first began happening?? ROFL.

I'm Polish, and my ppl suffered much during the Holocaust. The Holocaust is an IMPORTANT part in world history, though. You can't go back in time to change things- you must accept what happened.

The worst Holocaust in the last thousand years may well have been the extermination of the Cathars in the Albigensian Crusade. This was Christians killing other Christians. They not only killed all the people but they totally wiped out the culture - something Adolf Hitler could only dream of doing to Europe's Jews and their culture.

To make sure the dreaded ideas of these exterminated people, the Cathars, would never again arise, the Vatican instituted the Inquisition and appointed the Dominican order to suppress any expressions of disagreement with the orthodox beliefs.

It's a good idea to teach history but the horror stories should not be cherrypicked. Let people know about them all. The Turkish Holocaust against the Armenians around 1915. The Romans' annihilation of Carthage long ago. And the worst death toll in modern history, the death of 29 million Chinese people due to Mao Tse Tung's "Great Leap Forward". As for racist oppression of an ethnic minority, the Jews in Europe are now pretty safe but do you know what is still being said and done today about the Romani ("Gypsies") in places like Hungary?

Your ignorance is frightening.

Only white-supremacists and bigots and anti-Israelis like the President of Iran pretend to believe the holocaust didn't happen. Everyone else understands that it did, just like we know WW 1 and WW 2 happened and just like we know that slavery happened and that there was a civil war. Yes, the people in power DID know that Jews were being exterminated but for political reasons they did nothing.

'Those who learn nothing from history are doomed to repeat it.'
THATS why it's still being studied, ok?

P.S. No one here believes that you 'love Jews and support the state of Israel' by the way. Your entire post is either thinly-disguised hate speech or profound ignorance.

History is the memory of humanity, if you loose your memory you are nothing, you are what you know, your life would be a series of constant mistakes.

Societies that do no know their past will commit the same mistakes.

The hardest lessons learned are the most effective.

It is apart of world history. It must be learned so the same steps do not occur again.

The Holocaust isn’t history anymore, it is our state religion.
