I do not have fine hair and my hair is a little past my shoulders so i can't really reach behind my head to trim.

Ask your mom to clip them or a friend or learn to do it yourself!!

is cost the factor for you not being able to go to the salon? if this is the case how about finding a local hair school that is ALWAYS looking for models for the students to work on........you will get a much more careful cut than normal as these people are being watched at all times and are being graded on how well they do it.
Maybe you could book a nice manicure / pedicure for you mum at the same time so you can do it as a "girlie" thingy together.
Worth a bit of time finding out for your self..........

Stop going to a salon! It's ruining your hair!
Clean your hair out using a natural soap. Only wash your hair using normal soap. Put in ZERO conditioners. Do NOT use shampoo. If you have to use something other than normal soap, then use a body wash instead.
Air dry your hair. Do NOT put in hairspray or gels or creams or anything else like that.
Cut your hair back about 1/2 the current length and let it grow back out again. Following what I have said above, your hair will grow back out to be the softest, most luxurious and easiest to manage hair out there.

Why do you need a salon? Just to to 1st choice or some other chain haircutter place. If you only need a trim, they'll do fine.

cut off the tips of your hair or collect cans and go yourself

just cut an inch where ever the split ends are. or go to your friend's house and she'll do it for you!

after you take a shower just cut them ur self because when ur hair is wet they will be shown clearly..

go to a beauty supply and buy some stuff that will treat split ends, like special creams. im just trying to be helpful. jeez people.
