hi i have a pc i have just bought and i am setting it up its an old one and it hasnt come with a genuine copy of windows its running on xp pro sp1 and for some reason when you go on internet explorer and text document or anything like that when i am scrolling it is really slow and sort of shimmers as it scrolls down but i dont know how to stop it or knock it off so it just scrolls normally it takes like 45 seconds to scroll to bottom of a page and its starting to do my head in a bit lol so i thought i would ask all you pros how to sort it out all info would be really appreciated thank you and kindest regards joe

My PC did exactly that when I upgraded from IE6 to IE7 so I went back to IE6, problem solved. If you remove IE7 it will be automatically be replaced by IE6

I think your problem has to do with RAM. Check your system properties to make sure it is recording the 1gig of RAM. Then I would try to find updated drivers for them. Try switching out the RAM with some from your old computer...or a computer that you know works. If it still does it I'd say there's some system conflict with your network card. Try updating the drivers for that. If it still doesn't work try reformatting your computer and start with the bare basics to see if it's some conflict with some software. Also, try doing a virus scan...if you got online without virus software it could be a virus. Hope all goes ok.

My scroller mouse gave up the ghost on me so i am using a standard one to scroll down or up i just left click and hold on side of page it works for me anyway.Much faster than scrolling.

It's probably something to do with the graphics adaptor not being able to refresh quickly enough. This is because, either the drivers for it aren't installed, or its simply not powerful enough for XP's demands on it.

Have you looked at your mouse scroll speed and settings?

go to scroll speed in mouse in control panel and increase it

Use firefox instead of internet explorer, it's miles better.

just about to right what jeffers said but already done....if its flashy then its what he says...what ever you do dont go to PC World they will sell you something or offer to fix it what ever they say in there is rubbish.
