A lot of people tend to think all betta's are agressive.
The answer to that is that male bettas do not get along with other male bettas.
So you can have many females together and they USUALLY do okay - although I have seen a few agressive ones in my time. So be prepared to watch how she reacts and be prepared to take her out if she is an agressive one.
A male betta would even go in a tank with semi-agressive tropical fish just fine as well.
They do not care about other fish - they just fight other male Bettas.

Yes Female Betta's can be kept together and with other Peaceful fish. Male Betta's can be kept with other Peaceful fish as long as there is only one(Betta) in the tank and the other fish aren't nippers.

Female bettas usually are fine together if given enough room to have their own space. They are also usually fine with other types of tropical fish. Of course each fish does have its own personality so you have to have plans just in case a fish, or 2, doesn't get alone with the others.

yes they should be perfectly fine if there is adequate space like tank size and lots of greenery for them to hide. I read somewhere that female bettas arent that agressive as males are and can live together. hope that works.

For the most part, yes. You do get the occasional aggressive girl though. Male bettas can also be housed with tropical fish, except gouramis.

sometimes -- i guess i should say usually yes. it helps if you give them lots of plants and things as they are territorial and like to have their own little spot in the tank. anytime you want to add new ones just redecorate. when you move their territories around they have to start all over again.
on occasion you do get one that is just a little too mean and will eat all the food or a little to passive and doesn't get any food. its best to separate them from the community if this happens.
