Yes as Vista uses Microsoft .Net 3.0 Framework and Visual Basic 2005 needs Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework and you can use 3.0 on XP but it just adds some vista features.
So Im 100% sure it will work.

I have VB 2005 Express and I have VB 5.0. I have been able to use VB 5.0 since Windows 95. When I write programs in VB 5.0, they work in any Windows operating system including Vista if I compile them on the target operating system. To transfer the programs to VB 2005 I upgrade them. They still work on the targeted system.
