Yes, it's fine. It's better than a lot of laptops. The p stands for pro.

Make sure you have lots of memory, and a fast hard drive like 7200 rpm.

If you are going to do this stuff all the time, you would be better off with a desktop designed for CAD and Photoshop. Part time, this laptop should be fine.
