Most of the time, the person speaking has no competence whatever in the subject he presumes to address, yet he speaks as if he could be one of the "leaders" of a project to address it. Is this the bombastic egoism of mass-man pretending to have worth that only an exceptional man may rightly lay claim to?

WE; pertains to the CREATIVE MINDS of HUMAN Species. Lighten UP, and direct your anger to the speaker that set you off. This Mass-man pretender has really pushed your buttons. Perhaps you should consider a debate to clarify YOUR position, and 'out' this BS artist.

We assume that we play some small part in everything because that's what we feel makes us more patriotic and proud of what we accomplish together. We we we we we we.

I think that, in the examples you have given, the speaker would be referring to our country--we should = The USA should.
