It's most likely rated "teen" for the simulated violence. You are the best judge of what your 7 year olds personality is like. Is his behavior influence by what he sees, reads, hears, etc... Does he realize it's just a game and nothing to be reenacted in everyday life...

As his parent, you may want to encourage him to spend time doing multiple entertaining things, so that he is not focused only with Computer games, but is well-rounded in his pursuits. Board games, outside activities, computer games, reading, writing poems/stories, baking, cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc.

You should review the content of Guild Wars before playing. If you let your son watch intense action violence on prime-time TV, then a Teen-rated game should be no problem at all. Every child grows up differently. The ESRB ratings are not your babysitter and are not a substitute for your parental guidance. The best thing to do is to supervise him while playing the game, as it is an Internet game. And you will have to register a game account for him as he is under 18 (NCSoft 2007).

Look on the back of the game case it has the ESRB rateing. Anything with Blood & Gore & Intense Action is not a game for a 7 year old. You should buy him the Fairly Oddparents game. It is rated E10+ but it is a good game for kids.

I wouldn't advise it. Guild Wars is a fairly complex and violent game, I don't think a 7 year old is really ready for it. What's more, it's completely online, your child is freely interacting with thousands of other people without any supervision.

My son is 7 years old, I used to let him play with Teen rated PS2 games and he became very violent! There is a reason why it is Rated TEEN!

As long as he understands "it's a game".

7 year olds have difficulty making that connection.

Play it yourself and see what all is involved (great time to have him show you something he can do that you can't). If it's not too bad, and he understands that it's JUST A GAME and not real then maybe.

Is it called Gear(s) of War(s) or something? Because that game is pretty violent. Any game including guns, wars, or shooting games is pretty violent.

I think it's okay, but don't him play to much and get more of an understanding of the game world than the real one.

it depends on why the game is rated "teen". i would assume that a 7 year old is not mature enough for teenage-level content...

I dont think it would b horible to let him play. The game doesn't have very good graphics when it comes to the fighting. Also people aren't allowed to curse, so he wouldn't learn and new words if thats wut ur worried about. Even so, i think u should stick to more appropriate games until he is about 11.
