I feel like I should be feeding him more than the boxed marshall ferret food- is that a good idea or a bad habbit to get into? Is it healthy for them to eat 'people' food? He likes our Beneful dog food- ha ha.

He will be full grown at about 6-7 months of age, and should weigh around two pounds. This may also depend on the breeding of your ferret. I have a female and she's quite small for a female.
As for food, I reccomend 8-in-1 Ultimate Ferret Diet Crunchy. This is one of the best foods out there, and my ferrets LOVE it! I don't like Marshall's food, and dog food isn't nutritionally fit for a ferret. Other ferret brand foods I recommend are Totally Ferret, Zupreem, Nature's Gold, and Innova Evo.

Most ferrets will weigh 2-4 lbs. fully grown by the time they're around 8 months.

Marshalls isn't a good food for ferrets...they're obligate carnivores and it's filled with all kinds of crap they don't need and don't digest. You'll find that switching to the foods that the first poster listed (kudos to you, BTW) with the Innova Evo in particular not only will your ferret be healthier but the stool volume/smell will decrease dramatically.

With the Innova Evo it doesn't have to be the "ferret" Evo, either. Feline is just fine. A high quality cat food is fine for a ferret because it has Taurine in it, where dog food does not.

i think ferrets are full grown at about 7 months. ferrets don't get too big, about the size of a kitten! very cute! and depending on how big the cage is, 1 or 2 bowls will be fine, and then maybe a few treats a day. marshall food is very good, my ferrets loved it!! but definitely don't give them people food!!
