When starting the first boot, i receive an error related to ntrldll.dll There is a list of about 10 .dll/sys files that had to be skipped. Any ideas? Defective cd or incorrectly setup drive?

Make sure the boot order is correct in BIOS. You want to boot to the DVD/CD drive right now, you will change the boot order back to the HDD again after WinXP is loaded. If you have a SATA drive make sure that you follow the manufacturers instructions on how to load the O.S. onto the HDD. There may be some software files that need to be extracted from the installation CD before you start the installation process, copy these files to a floppy disk.
