It really depends on the water where you live. I would do some research. Where I live, we have fantastic water that is very safe, so there was never a need to boil the water.

She must be talking about the contaminated formula in China, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with US formula as it's not sold here. I've been giving my son PC formula since he was around 2 months old. He's now about 6 and a half months old and has never been sick, not even with a cold. You're fine and so is your baby girl!

Depending on the area you're in, the quality of the water may require that you boil it before making up a bottle. With my son, I was living in one place with GREAT water, so I didn't boil it. With my girls, though, the tap water wasn't all that great, so I just bought cases of bottled water and used that. Much easier than boiling it..

You should only have to boil the water in areas that have questionable water. I have never boiled water for my 2 kids due to the fact that our water is repeatedly tested, and is very safe.

I am not planning on boiling water for my son's bottles, I have a filtration system on my sink so I think that will be just fine. My mom never boiled my water when I was a baby and I am extremely healthy!

I think its just to make the water sterile. I never boiled the water with my son and he is fine. If you are worried about it and dont want to boil the water you can get some nursery water.

You need to boil it because it may be contaminated. This includes all bottled water. You also should not use tap or any other fluoridated water to make infant formula.

"if liquid or powdered concentrate infant formulas is the primary source of nutrition, it can be mixed with water that is fluoride free or contains low levels of fluoride to decrease the risk of fluorosis, including water that is labeled purified, demineralized, deionized, distilled or reverse osmosis filtered water (many grocery stores sell these types of drinking water for less than $1 per gallon); "

I just used pediatric water (jug water found at Walmart) or distilled water and didn't bother boiling. My pediatrician was fine with that too, but I never would have dreamed of giving her our nasty tap water without boiling it first!

I just used Nursery Water in the gallon jugs until she was a few months old, then I just used tap water after that. The pediatrician told me it was fine to do that.
