did you put your return address on the parcel? because if you did the post office WILL return it to you if it is 'undeliverable' for whatever reason. also if the parcel has 'gone missing' you can claim the purchase price but not the postage back from royal mail 15 days from estimated delivery date-25 days if it is overseas-i would email your buyer and say that you have to claim from the post office after 15 days have passed from non-delivery, and would they like you to go ahead and make a claim for them, from the post office, on their behalf, you will need your receipt or proof of postage and the paypal transaction details-if they paid by paypal of course-i think it is entirely up to yourself whether you refund postage or not-many companies dont refund postage for lost or returned items.

There are two different reasons paypal would be holding your funds. they paid using an eCheck - and you shouldn't have sent the item already or Paypal found fraud on the sender's account, and they are verifying that person's account before sending you the funds, paypal won't release your money until they get paid first... money in, money out. if it's the second reason, they usually release the funds within a week. UNLESS they reverse the transaction, when they do that, it usually happens within the day. we got a held transaction after it got delivered... 10 days after... so it's not that big of a thing, it only matters if they reverse a transaction if they reverse it, you can contact customer support and argue for your money back since it's an eBay transaction you can show the csr the item, the amount it closed for, and the amount sent... gives you a better bargaining chip than 'i need my money' ... it turns into 'i followed your instructions and sent them the item, you can either get me my item back, or you can get me the money i'm owed'

Because you did not send it as recorded delivery it is hard for you to confirm that it was sent off to the buyer. Also, the buyer might have received it but will not tell you about it. Be aware of crooks on eBay!
I remember a friend of mine bought two tickets on eBay for U2 concert and he did not receive it even though the seller said it was sent off to him. The seller was a crook and my friend was a fool to buy such things on eBay.
Good luck!

Refund the money less the postage costs. There is nothing the buyer can do. Send an e-mail to e-bay informing them of your transaction. Its up to them to sort it.

If he paid the postage to you and didnt get his item, then you should pay the postage back to him really.
Recorded delivery would be better than normal post, cos then you can get a delivery receipt if theres any doubt that they got it.

ive sold a fair few items on ebay and nothing has ever gone missing. although sometimes items can take a week to arrive because it goes through a different system. i would also consider that if the item didnt get to them then the refund might not as well (nudge nudge lol)

Well, you never know - this person might have recieved the item but wants their miney back beacuse there are some fakes on ebay.
Notify ebay again, as i heard that they would have to pay.
Do you have any proof that you posted it?
good luck :)
