We all know Cheney was the leak. Libby lied under oath to protect Cheney and that is why he will go to jail. Don't confuse the issue. It is simple.

These are not "rumors" as one poster states. I have followed the case and there is STRONG evidence that Libby tried to cover Cheney by lying about the facts. His sudden "poor" memory just adds to his guilt.

Libby is done for unless the defense pulls a rabbit out of their behinds. Fitzgerald is a conservative so Cheney is a 30/70 bet in my view although he is guilty.

Yes, you are right. Sandy Berger's lies, the continuing lies about 9/11 and Oklahoma City and failure to get Bin Laden, the lies by Joe Wilson, (if you follow his contemporary reports not his revisons years later), all ad up to a disturbing picture of no one telling the truth about the failure to prevent bad things happening, all we know for certain is nothing spectacular has happened since 9/11, but it's becoming apparent that terror related incidents like the Salt lake City shooting, will be made to look as non-terror related. If you show me an honest politician in Washington (or any place) that never lies I would faint. How do you think they get elected? By honest campaigning and clear thinking people deciding who the best qualified person is for the job? It's all a matter of compromise, those who get sloppy are the ones who get caught, it's the fact that they look foolish and lose credibility that neccessitates they leave office. I'm looking at joining some third party, reformed tree worshipping druid pygmie cannibals or something respectable sounding like that. See my question on Hegel, and maybe read George Orwell's "1984" sometime for kicks.

What an interesting way to express your complete contempt for the practice of, "Innocent until proven guilty".
I am amazed that such rumors spread so quickly through any of our society considereing how seditious such behavior is.
Discussing the case? Yes. Trying to sway people to see our democratically elected officials as criminals, regardless of what side of the political aisle they come from, no. That undermines the entire country.
I suspect Former First Lady and Senator Clinton will face a lot of such nonsense. I'll fight that as well.
My answer? I don't know. I refuse to speculate on grounds of being a Patriot and a supporter of our judicial process.

There have been no charges against Cheney. Why would Libby go to jail. Is it okay to lie to a grand jury only if you are a Democrat? Hell, if Sandy Burger is walking free, they better not try to lay one finger on Libby.

No & No. There is zero evidence that Libby deliberately lied. He had no involvement in the so called "outing". He probably didn't remember details because it wasn't important to him.
