In American movies you often here "You can run but you can't hide" -Why aren't American's allowed to hide?

They aren't really addressing that statement to ALL Americans - just to the one/s they're chasing at the moment.

You could hide. It's the strategy of the pursuer to get you to think you can't hide. That way you give up easier. Yet, you could hide. It's just a ruse.

Because we're so obese they would find us any way. That's why they go on ahead and give us a chance to run. They're really trying to help us lose weight by all that runnin.

It just means that no matter what you do what you are trying to hide from, be it a person, thing, issue etc., it will always find you.

It's just stating, no matter how much you try to run from your problems, they will find you.
