Don't worry or give this statement of hers anymore energy. She is eight, what eight year old would want breasts? Reinforce that breasts are simply for feeding babies and she doesn't need to worry about breasts until she is mom. Make sure she knows it isn't anything for her to even think about at this point in her life and put it way ahead into her future. Puberty has a way of changing one's thoughts and I am sure it will do the trick for her also.

This sounds like a phase that she's going through. Afterall, she's just eight years old. She'll grow out of this once she becomes a teenager. Just explain to your daughter, that all women get breasts when they get older and she doesn't have to worry about having them until she grows up.

Her feelings about that should change with time. Maybe she saw how boys can sometimes be towards girls with breasts, crude comments I mean, and it made her a little nervous?? Talk to her, ask her why she feels that way. Tell her there is nothing as unique and special as a woman

There are lots of little girls who say that, but don't worry. Hopefully you have already starting to talk to her about sex and bodies; may be time to do explaining about breasts and periods - after all, some girls at 9 and 10 are getting them these days.

If you want a great book on describing the female body, maybe when she is a bit older then you will love this. It was very inciteful for me and it is not oudated. I read it about 3 years ago when I was 12. "My body, My Self For Girls" by Lynda Madaras and Area Madaras

I used to say that when I was her age. I think I said it because I knew that I really did want them, but I thought it would sound stupid of me to say so. She'll get a little older and see girls her age getting breasts and be jealous of them like I was. There's nothing wrong with her, she just probably is embarassed to talk about it like I was.

She is just young and afraid of change, being different. She will want them in a few years. Be glad she is not a hoochie like a lot of 8 year old girls. Worrying about their weight and wearing short skirts!

She is eight years old What do you do enjoy it When she is 11 or 12 and all the girls around her start their development she will be mad because hers are not there or big enough Then you can remember when she didn't want them. Then you can worry about getting her to understand we get what we get when we get them.
