Why should the other 90% even care?

I get so angry about this subject. The argument about procreation? Well, there are people who cannot have children and people who choose to not have children. I guess they can't get married, right? And if marriage is a religious institution, then why are athiests allowed to marry?

Then there's the "choose to be gay" line. If someone is truly straight, would they choose to be gay? Why in the hell would someone want to do that? You're attracted to who you're attracted to. The point about "what's next" - marrying children, animals, dead people, etc...give me a break! What consenting adult humans do IS NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS!

Bringing religion into it is ridiculous. I don't believe what these fanatics do. There are so many different beliefs in this country. Laws in the United States should not be based on religion.

I'm straight, by the way. I just happen to have an open mind. If I had to label myself, I guess I would say I'm an athiest. And guess what? I'm a good person. Can you imagine??

I believe the figure is 3 % Regardless of what some people think there is absolute truth, there is right and wrong and it is not based on popular opinion. Like it or not this country was founded as a Christian nation, the Bible and the truths found with in it form the bases for our laws from the founding of this country. If there is not absolute right and wrong where do we stop. Do we allow people to start killing others because they don't "think" it is wrong. Who are we to say it is wrong for them.
So if we allow gay marriage where do we stop.Do we allow grow men to start marring little girls . If you think this could never happen maybe you should take a look at the nambla website. They think it is good for the child to have sex with adults. Homosexuality was thought of in the same way as child rape until the 1970's

I think your numbers are total bull-sh!t. There's no way in hell that 1 in 10 people is gay, there just can't be that many homos' out there.

Please don't state random "facts." without citing your sources of information.

And as far as your question goes, not everyone that's straight does care about homos' because ignorance is bliss. For those that do, the reasoning is that Marriage is a sacrosanct unity between a MAN and a WOMAN and has been for thousand of years. Altering this ideal would be insulting to many of those that have gone before and to many religions. Homosexuality isn't natural by the way, if it was then procreation would be possible regardless of sex.

Its all about money. When people get married they have rights to benefits from employers and insurance and government assistance programs. The next thing you know people will make the argument that they love there pet," So why shouldn't fido have the same rights as a spouse?"

People say that in so many words god wanted it to be Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve......... I don't know why they care though, i think because misery loves company and since they cant find love and happiness they want to take it from others....... they need to let God do the judging

Most of those that are complaining about it are closet gays. They want them to stay in the closet so they will have more variety.

I agree with you. It is none of their business how these people live their life. They are hurting no one. I respect all natures of life. Mo.
