....large cities. As a gay person, Is it better living in the city? Do you find you get more support and a sense of community? Would you ever consider moving to a smaller town? Do you live in a small town and what is like to be gay living there? Which is better....? ...and why is it better?

I live in a rural farming community. The town is so small there isn't even a store to buy socks here. And I wouldn't trade it for a Park Avenue penthouse and carte blanche on an NYC lifestyle.

I don't know about support in big cities, but there are support services if you need them. You can get lost in a big city. However I prefer them because there is a lot more to do, and there are better job prospects.

Towns, although, you might feel a sense of community, there would be an increased chance of a negative reaction to coming out to someone, most of the time there are few (if any) support services for gay people, and there would be very few (if any) places to meet other gay people.

That being the case Milkbone seems to have made it work for him.

I grew up in rural America and now live in a large city. From what I've seen large cities are much better for LGBT individuals. In the country where I live, I'm almost afraid for my life. In the city, I know behind the next corner in the next crowd there is at least one other person in the community. I feel much safer and secure in the big city.
