I have a couple of real old (1980's bages of old "White", not Brownish, as it's sold today) bags of Florida Crushed Coral Gravel that I was wondering if it would be all right for the bottom of my mangrove/mudskipper tank?

Sure, that is a great substrate for a brackish tank! Wash it well before adding it to the tank though. It will help maintain the proper hardness and pH in the tank.

it incredibly is purely suitable for retaining annoying, alkaline water loving species at the same time with african cichlids. Even 5% overwhelmed coral could make the water incorrect for many of the species you are able to keep in that tank.

yeah it works great. it will never rinse clear but rinse it until it the water only looks dirty(not like pure milk.) it will take a couple of days for the tank water to clear. It is a great buffer for the water

Yes, but since you already have fish, don't add it all at once as a large pH swing is not good
