I've traveled to Jacksonville, Florida and I went to Sonic and the food is AWESOME....but I came back to Miami where I currently live and I haven't seen any Sonic ANYWHERE!!! I went to the restaurant's website and clicked on Sonic Locator and put in the required information and there is not even a Sonic within 150 miles of Miami!!!...which leaves me with this question...When is there going to be a Sonic in Miami?

I tried to solve that problem about a year ago. I received a franchise package from Sonic and spoke to a coporate manager about land I have on I-95 in the West Palm area. He told me that someone own all the franchise rights for Sonic in SouthFlorida and they were looking for property. When I called back months later I asked again if I could buy franchise rights and the year end. They told me the right have been bought for over two years and the person was doing "research" on areas from PGA to Miami for placement. I could've have had one built already, right off I-95 across the street from McDonalds. I would have cleaned up. Now currently trying to get Moes in same location. Email sonic and ask them when the reseach will be done.

Great question, possibly never! I have been wanting one since 1990 went I went to college in Gainesville, FL and first came to know Sonic. They're great, but have never made it down here. Every time I see their commercials during football games and such it drives me nuts. There are now so many concepts down here, Miami has lots of new latin places opening up and the traditional franchises and fast food chains have the rest. Checkers is the only thing remotely close (yummy regional burger chain that isn't McDonalds, Burger King or Wendy's and has a drive thru) and they are few and far between, though a new one is opening up off of the Palmetto and NW 25th street, and there is one on Bird Road and SW 107th ave, and another off of Palmetto and NW 122nd ST. But their food is not nearly as good or diverse as Sonic. I am moving to Ocala soon, hopefully will have them there, I think so!
