Buy a cable that spilts from one wire into three - a red tipped, a yellow tipped, and an orange tipped. Apple sells one, but you can just buy a cheap generic one from Radio Schack. But there's a trick. First, plug the single-plug end into your headphone jack. Then, you would think to take the red cable and plug it into the red jack onto the TV. But thats where Apple gets you. Wanting you to buy their own, they scrabled the signal so people would think normal cables wouldn't work and buy their more expensive one. So if you are using a generic cable, you need to plug the plugs into different-colored holes on your TV. I can't remember which goes with which, so play around and sooner or later you'll get it. I thinks it this:
Reg plug - Yellow hole
Yellow plug - white hole
white plug - red hole

If that doesn't work, mix up the combonations, and it'll work. O yeah, click on video settings on your iPod and set TV output to on or whatever the option is called. You'll find it under Videos -> Settings.

If you need further help, email me. Good luck, and enjoy.
