Yes, it is normal. The stretching of your ligaments and your body naturally preparing itself to accomodate a growing baby can cause all sorts of discomforts, including back pain. If you had any kind of back problems before, pregnancy can magnify it..

It can happen at any time actually. I am pregnant and am a massage therapist so my back hurts constantly. Do you have a job where you sit or stand? Try to go and get a prenatal yoga DVD and do it about 2-3 times a week- it will help, promise. You can get them at Walmart or Target.
So, no worries :) Just rest and prop your feet up. And also, you might want to invest in a body pillow to sleep with at night or when you are lying down. I got mine at Walmart (I went everywhere else and this is the only place that had them) and I'm thankful for it!! It will help to bolster a pillow between your knees and that takes pressure off your hips and back :) Free advise I give to you being a therapist!!! Also, GO GET MASSAGED!!! It will help as well.
:) Hope this helped!!

Yes, it's normal. I didn't get backaches with my daughter til close to the end, but I'm 37 weeks with my son now, and have had it on and off since about 6 weeks. The doc told me to use a heating pad & Tylenol. Also, putting a pillow between my knees at night helped some.

I would recommend that you go to see a gp just to be on the safe side

In early pregnancy (until he started moving) I had constant backache all the time and I was told it was because the baby was sitting on a nerve and as they dont move much at that point I just had to put up with it until he started moving and then it went

I hope this helps

Good luck and congratualtions for your pregnancy

It's usually normal, but your still pretty small at 8 weeks. I would drink more water just to be sure. The back pain could be your kidneys adjusting to the extra load, and telling you to drink more.

hello,i had constant backache throughout my pregnancy,so you may have a while to go yet!its just your body's way of adapting to that lil person inside,if you can, take plenty of relaxing baths, get your partner to massage your back loads or a friend!and get one of those v-shaped pillows to place round your back too as it will help support your growing weight from the bump!try argos, also enjoy if you can and take plenty of feet-ups,believe me youll need as much rest as possible before flump finally arrives!good luck and congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, back pain and cramping is normal during pregnancy. don't worry :) Buy some good pregnancy books, like What to Expect and they will tell you a lot of what is normal and what to watch for.

At 8 weeks i wouldn`t think your back should be as troublesome yet , maybe the way baby is positioned , i would go to the doc about it , if anything you will have peace of mind ..

Congratulations ...

You might want to call the OB's office to be sure, but I had a backache until after my son was born.
