It think you are referring to the actor who first came to be noticed in the UK with his role as a Priest in the TV comedy series, "Father Ted" (1995).
In the Independent on Sunday 2006 Pink List - a list of the most influential gay men and women - he came no. 36, up from no. 37.
I am American so I only know of him through the few episodes of Father Ted that I've seen and what I read about him at imdb.com. Otherwise I respect that he is out and open about his sexuality. That couldn't have been an easy decision to make for his career. That must make it less stressful on him.
Maybe when his career brings him to American audiences I'll see more of him and will be able to form a better opinion on liking or disliking him. I like what I read about him.

I liked him on the Graham Norton show a few years back but now he's just a poncey pratt

You have just aided me in coming to the conclusion, I dislike him.
I thought about it, and realised he is just a step away from his character in Father Ted. Full of good intention, but severely annoying!

I find him quite annoying; he's ok in small doses and was very funny as Father Noel in Father Ted, but i get a bit sick of that whole OOOhhh aren't i cheeky and risque thing all the time.

Use to be funny a few years ago, even on Father Ted, but he's a screechy pratt now. Dislike.

From what I have seen on tv I don't like him at all. He seems to try to shock in a very mediocre kind of way, but I bet he is better to talk to than George Bush.

He used to be so funny on his own show a few years back but now he's on earlier he's quite dull so I dislike him now.
