Opening a childs mail?

Is it illegal for a parent to open thier underage (17 or younger) childs mail if it is sent to thier (the parents) home?

No. Minors have no right to privacy.

No if they are under 18 years of age and live with you.

Yes it is illegal to open ANYONE'S mail without their permission.
