I would go with a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress, it's just classic..

I do not have a favourite designer, but always have some favourite collection from NY,PARIS,MILAN.
Best way to dress is not to wear the outfit because of the brand, but for the cutting (shape), fabric (feel), color (mood), mix and match will make your look more outstanding.
In the past few season, Calvin Klein has some nice dress, Chole has some cute separate, Dior has some nice bag, check them out.

I love Gucci, the retro feel, chanel for being timeless, marc jacobs because he stands out, and Ralph Lauren because he can give you a clean cut style.
