I'm planning on taking a medical or personal leave at work to have surgery.
I don't know IL law, but need to know if your employer has to know what kind of surgery you're getting, can they deny you a medical leave for surgery that is cosmetic, & how long of a medical leave can you have w/in a yrs time?
If you have to tell your employer the kind of surgery your getting, I'm considering asking for a personal leave instead. Do you have to tell the employer exactly what the personal problem is & how long of a personal leave can you have w/in a yrs time in IL?

For the family leave act to applie, it must be a Serious medical condition. Thats the words they use in the law. The employeer can not ask what is wrong, but can demand a copy of medical records stating what it was.
Good luck

No, I the two forgive or go away it to the source of Justice, the single that is and has by no potential been unjust. If attacked, i visit take care of my self with the mandatory rigidity to repel the attack, yet while i'm wronged in many diverse concerns, and that i will forgive, i'm going with forgiveness.

i dont know the laws either, however all you have to say is "it's a personal matter" which is delicate and dont wish to discuss in depth. they cannot force you to tell them. you just have to decide with road your gonna go down.

If you have sick time or personal time coming to you, your company doesn't need to know the reason for your request.

If you don't have time coming to you, you may have to resign from your job.
